It isn't very unlikely. Pre-order positions do not mean that a song can't reach #1. Demi has got a hefty amount of pre-orders since release. It is possible.

On Wednesday evening last week, Rachel was #60 vs Demi's #85.
If you take the top 100 right now as an example, #85 is at 0.0438, whilst #60 is 0.0594. The difference between them in sales is tiny, so even if Demi's position is slightly lower than Rachel, she can still get a #1.

From the release of the official music video for CFTS I've been tracking the views very slightly. But my points is:
1st week: 12,5 million views
2nd week: 19+ million views
3rd week: 26 million views
4th week: BARELY 33 million views
5th week (this week btw): 40 million views
And it's only 8am in my country so Demi has another 9 hours to grow on views which will help the streaming. I was trying to say that every week she managed to reach at least 7 million views (plus-minus). Previous week she barely reach 33 million views and now the easily reach at least 7 million views! Looks like the views are finally reaching higher numbers.

I'm pretty sure most of those increased views come from the UK though

As long as Sigala doesn't unexpectedly release their single at that time , she should get it.
If Sigala does release, #1 is impossible for Demi.
