Honestly, I don't love the album as much as I used to, but I can see why it got a 91. I really admire how ambitious it is for a debut,

Right? The album just flows really well. It's really easy to get caught up in it. For the first half anyway.

I think it's kind of a doube-edged sword though. A lot of the album really flows well, but some of the songs don't work as well as stand-alone songs for that reason. I agree that I'm not into the album as much as I once was, I still love, I still love, I still love it though.

Beach House is lazy to me, My Bloody Valentine is lazy to me. Ride, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, The Sundays now THOSE are some heavenly bands. With MBV & BH it's like they only make that type of music to be cool and ~aesthetics~ because it's so lazy and vapid to me. The other bands I listed do/did DP with some 'oomph' and bite to it; imo.

Nothing about My Bloody Valentine and their pioneering of shoegaze was "lazy", honey. Beach House is potentially a different story, but you're clearly just grasping at straws to try to justify your troll scores.
