Give me a break with the impacting culture. It's really not even a conversation worth having.
A quick look through the list of most-streamed songs from 15 years ago shows you how much the public cares about what position a song peaked at on the Hot 100 years after the fact.
There are plenty of amazing current rock bands. Probably more than there have ever been. In fact, there are probably more talented artists making great music in every genre than there have ever been before because the resources to make and distribute music are so much more widely available now than ever before.
