there are only a couple of fan bases that would say that Bey, Ari, or Kelly Clarkson (of all people ) scream and the fact of the matter is that they don't know much about singing in the first place based on who they stan for

Christina screams her upper notes because she refuses to apply what she's learned. She wants to sound like Etta James, even though she has a naturally lighter voice. She's arrogant and thinks she can get away with it, but she's obviously damaged her voice.

Sometimes she does use a healthy technique and she produces a beautiful belt, with vibrato, like in this performance @ 4:33

It's not a trend. Christina's belts are often very strained, or "scream-y". That's a fact and I don't care if she's the Voice of the Generation or not.

Her screams is because of Linda Perry. Blame her, when she said Xtina sounds better shouting. I kind of wish she'd go back to singing like her debut days.

She literally struggles to hit those notes, it sounds unnatural like she's damaging her vocal cords every time. She screams from her throat. That is not singing. I'm pretty sure she has damaged her vocal cords at some point. The video ain't dumb.
