It's not news that SM hasn't been putting much effort into Japanese releases lately

SHINee's latest Japanese release had like 4 new tracks in it, and the past two Tohoshinki releases have been lacklustre at most (soz Callum

). At this point, Japanese releases for SM are a way to pay off expenses for their Korean comebacks. Sending SNSD/SHINee/Tohoshinki (really SM's only active groups over there) off to Japan for a quick album and tour is an easy way to get some quick money to pay off debts from their last Korean comebacks and start saving for the next one.

It's the business, sadly. Unless they pull an Everybody a la 2013, I can guarantee SHINee will be back in Japan before the year ends, too.
