The meltdown was before and during the Blackout era ("Break the Ice" was a cartoon video because that was when she was wheeled out of her house on a gurney and tossed in a rubber room). Blackout was a failed attempt at a comeback. Circus was the comeback.
The meltdown reached it's climax in the middle of the Blackout era.
Shame tho. Her best album didn't deserve all of that. But Blackout is still legendary (a bit) with it's amazing music, all of that story around Gimme More vid and Britney's meltdown
