You have NO idea what you're talking about

It's actually upsetting to see the young gay generation be so ignorant about what our community had to go through in the late 80s and 90s. And yes, SO many gay men had it back then and died from it. There's a whole generation that was lost. This is aside from the usual SYG trolling, you should read up on what it was like back then. Almost no stars spoke up about it, the government wasn't doing anything and most people who did say something said it was a good thing and "God's punishment". Madonna was one of the ONLY celebrities advocating safe sex and HIV treatment and de-stigmatization.
