Lana gets informed like every other mainstream artist by her team. They look up the positions on iTunes, Amazon and Googleplay. It's not like she was waiting for Billboard.
Artists know these things a day or two in advance, cause they get updates. And their teams aren't also waiting for Nielsen.
Even iIf she read the article yesterday, she knew herself, that it was a mess-up.
