Their ENTIRE music industry is made $105 million and $100 million in revenue respectively, that is nothing. That's the equivalent to 10 million albums sold in the entire country per year.

China has a population of 1.35 billion, and India has a population of 1.2 billion. So yeah, by their means, their music industry is not relevant or thriving in any kind of way. 20K is Platinum in China, and they have trouble getting even 1 album to do that yearly in a population of 1.35 billion, so I wouldn't call their music industry 'relevant'.

Going by that definition, they're not necessarily relevant, but the main issue there isn't lack of ability to afford music (which is a mildly offensive notion) - it's just highly prevalent piracy and a lack of a body that cares much.
