China has a population of 1.35 billion, and India has a population of 1.2 billion. So yeah, by their means, their music industry is not relevant or thriving in any kind of way. 20K is Platinum in China, and they have trouble getting even 1 album to do that yearly.

And yet they're still in the top 20 out of over 200 countries, so their industries are clearly not "irrelevant".
Yes, they have more potential than the comparatively music-saturated US, going by raw numbers, but they're not irrelevant at all!
