People need to realize it's stupid rn to argue over free vs. premium streaming. The industry needs to be focused on getting people to all legally stream PERIOD since sales will keep falling and it's the only substitution.

When Taylor and her dumb friends go on Twitter crying over Streaming, writing letters, and protesting against it, they're protesting against the future of music just over 1 short-term issue?..

Like in 5 years when the #1 song is selling 10K and artists will all need Streaming, the people sitting here denying it now will just look dumb. They should be focused on getting Streaming as popular as possible now, then worrying about pricing and other things later once the transition has happened.

The pricing is important tho. That is why I keep saying that Apple has it right. Getting them to sign up for free streaming will have it's consequences. And once people are used to free streaming do you think they will easily welcome a change to paid streaming all of a sudden?

I actually think down the line if they make Spotify non-free, lots more people will hop on board than y'all think. It's $10. People will have had years of listening, libraries of music, and so much put into Spotify, I don't think everyone will just leave. Lots will, but I also think lots will stay so.

Personally me after using Streaming for 3 years, I don't ever want to or feel a need to go back to having to download everything to listen everywhere. That's just so stale. I'd rather cough up a subscription.

It would work for the US and that kind of countries. There's no way Latin america and not so developed countries (as well as most of the Asian countries) would jump in. It's literally SO easy to listen to free music, like SO SO SO easy & you don't even have to do it illegally (we have Youtube, streaming sites, etc, etc).

The charts in Armenia (where the same female artist is #1 pretty much every week because she's the daughter-in-law of the country's president) are becoming more credible than Billboard. A mess at Lana's team basically bribing Billboard to make "High By The Beach (Bye Career Baby Bye Bye)" seem like a hit. The song barely spent a day inside the top 10 on iTunes. The corruption!
