Re: Last.fm, it reinstated all the duplicate scrobbles I deleted when it was being an erratic mess and now Traveling Song by Ryn Weaver has gone from ~26 plays to 104? No, not happy. Fix it Jesus.
My ugly pretentious side comes out when I do reviews so I stopped. They are always enjoyable to write though.
my friend told me about this site that gives you money for reviews called slicethepie.com so I tried it and they'd give me $0.05 for each one and I barely made a dollar after two days so I stopped. it also played horrible pop punk that I couldnt stand
The thing with music is that unlike most other art forms, it's made to be enjoyed repeatedly. You have to listen to an album at least ten times before you can write a proper review. But who's gonna listen to an album more than once if they don't like it?
That's another reason why music reviews are mostly bogus.

!!!
Jay Z talked about this before I think with Howard Stern. He was saying how back in the day before leaks, Rolling Stone for example would get albums a month in advance and then publish the review a week before the album came out. That give the reviewer 2 weeks of listening and one week of writing to really let the music sit with them, and get to know the album intricately. Obviously because of the internet, that's not possible today, but I totally agree that one quick listen of an album is not enough.
