Madonna's had decades to get that acclaim. Beyonce's albums will make more and more lists as her career ages. If sales indicated quality then the top 10 would sound a lot different. Madonna came out at a time when albums sold like hot cakes while Beyoncé started her solo career as illegal downloads began to take over the industry. Beyoncé is a much better vocalist, has already demonstrated more maturity than Madonna and is the most important R&B artist of the millennium.

It's generic compared to the post-blackout pop landscape.

It's because it influenced a lot of pop songs that came after it. Back in 2007, nobody was pulling this sound (except Madonna's COADF and Kylie's Fever eras).

Believe it or not the state of r&b and hip hop is so subpart that Beyonce and Rihanna and Chris brown are actually important to r&b. It only confirms the state of the genre.

They are all good with beyonce being above average in r&b and rihanna in pop with r&b/urban teas but we don't have Maxwells, R. Kellys, Alicia keys, Janets, Mariahs, Ton braxtons anymore

Madonna, Janet, Prince and Michael Jackson are artist that have at least most of their discography better than everyone's best work.

Now, as far as quality albums I can see arguments made for newer artists having better ALBUMS than a Whitney, Celine, Usher etc.
