I kiiiind of disagree with the less flexible and diverse bit. It's true she hasn't done a ton differently this millennium while Madge has done some more exploration, but the 90's were very artistically good for her.
I think that the whole thing that bugs you is just subjective, it's part of the reason I actually like her.
