Anyhow, just looked at Katy's average gross for this tour and I'm NOT impressed at all. She doesn't even gross 1.5 million on average in most non-English speaking countries.

Born This Way has had so much impact on popular music. Half of the big singles in the past year have been by DJ Snake and The Weeknd, who Gaga introduced to the public with the BTW era. KWEEN!

Like, why does everyone despise it in her base? The individual tracks are mostly wonderful, especially things like Les Sex, Feels So Good, Sexy Love... the only real trash on it is I Was Gonna Cancel (a tragedy in every way).

Is it because it's just, as Cupid has put it, "generic Kylie pop?" Because it doesn't have an overarching theme or cohesive concept like most of her other records starting with KM94?

It's because the songs are incredibly basic and you can tell she had little to no involvement with practically all the songs. There's no charm, there's no character, it feels like a bunch of demos that someone picked up out of the recycle bin to put together so we could FINALLY have a new Kylie album.

Les Sex is cute, but Sexercize, If Only, the title track, Beautiful, and SWTE are all horrific. I Was Gonna Cancel is cute sometimes.

It's not always important for an artist to write everything they sing for me, but Kiss Me Once literally has one song on the standard where Kylie has a co-writing credit. It just all feels so secondhand. You could at least choose good material if you're being lazy.

I'd argue against If Only being that bad at all.

I understand that it has less character and she was less involved and enthusiastic, but look at it this way: the reason I think most Kylie stans hate that is because they're used to something different. Compare it to most other pop stars' albums that are made in exactly the same way? It blows them out of the water.

I guess because it was the first full studio album of hers I listened to, I didn't go into it having any expectations, so it well surpassed everything I had expected.

If Only is a 2/10 instead of a 1 like the others (Sexercize is a 0 ), but still.

It doesn't blow anything out of the water. Lyrically, sonically, it's, for the most part, a mess.
