bey is such a visual artist. i love that i stan for her. she just loves making music videos so much.
I had this amazing idea to take little clips of all of the self-titled videos and combine them into a new storyline for an avatar but aldjfajl it was so much work and I can't figure out how to combine them.
I just randomly logged online and she just happened to release the album like 5 minutes afterwards.
I really wanted to wait and buy the physical too so I stopped myself from listening to any song for the two weeks it took and then the first day it was available I went out and bought it and my sisters and I listened to it together in the car and were instantly floored.
My reaction was the exact opposite. I bought it digitally the night it dropped, and I was disgusted by how far removed from her previous work it was, and how sexual the lyrics were. I wrote an essay about it in the Base, which I think only jax saw. I've since grown to love [most of] the album, especially after the re-release with Ring Off & SOTS; but I'm not sure if I could learn to love an alt RnB album. That's waaaaaay off from what I want from Bey.
B'Day dated terribly and sucks now. It sounds like she tried super hard to the the Blues&B thing.
Deja Vu sucks now, low key. It's so tuneless and boring. Ring The Alarm, too.
Even if she was "on trend" it's not totally intriguing or groundbreaking or even close to it.
Only the Stargate song(s?) and the Shakira collab sound fresh and listenable today.
Kitty Kat though
I disagree that entire album sounds fresh to me. I gave it all 10s in Prismatic's pop queens showdown
I kind of want her to take the avant-garde stuff and the post-modern feminist lyricism even further with the next one. I'm hoping for like a no restraints album.
But I feel like she might do a really happy/fun/party album too idk.
i want her to do that too. i really want this next album to be something i've never heard before
and omg i feel that way too. after self titled i'm worried this next album will be very poppy. like when she went from B'Day->IASF. but then again i thought B5 would be very poppy and mainstream after 4. so idk. no one really knows what bey's gonna do. she's so random with her decisions.
