I just realized that boy bands never really died over in England. After the BSB/*NSYNC, boy bands were dead in the U.S. for a full decade until 1D, and even now, aside from their single debuts, they're really not smashing the charts like they were 3 years ago. But they just never got sick of them over there, yet a female artist can only be guaranteed 2 albums tops before the UK just completely leaves them behind.

Women are super loyal to boybands, no matter how trash the songs are. Even girl groups seem to have more longevity. It's such a weird bias there.

noone stays a force forever, in any country. but I agree the UK is generally fickle but male artists definitely have it better than female artists, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, George Michael (he got a top 12 in 2012), etc all had nice runs
