Yes his battle with pikachu and a level 3 snivy was UNBEARABLE I couldn't watch it or take it seriously after that

The XY series has been good, so far. You can really see Ash's growth as a trainer; his battling skills, his decision-making skills, his team >>. Also, for the first time since Brock and Misty, I've grown attached to his travel companions. Overall, it's been a great series and a step up from Unova.
