So? This was 2008, not 2012. Having an association with Luke wasn't something that drastically helped your career. (And look at Becky G / G.R.L. for proof that he doesn't guarantee success.) he had produced a few pop-rock hits, and urban music was still reigning supreme when "I Kissed a Girl" dropped.

I'm not saying KT did sleep with Luke or anyone but it would make sense an unknown artist sleeps with a big producer (or executive) to get a foot in the music industry. There's definitely a lot of shady happenings behind the scenes in the music industry.
