Maybe cheesy/irritating, but the truth generally tends to be that way!
Also: if I'm With You isn't a classic (it is), Sk8er Boi is 100% a generational classic anthem.
Pretty much everyone I know knows the song, many people know a majority of the lyrics.
It was an event. The campy nature of it struck a chord with whites - this is simple and true.
