My main issue with this is that you're essentially assuming that in the 2015 certifications, CG will have reached 7x platinum, and then some (hence the addition of 90k, when platinum here is 70k). I get the logic, but it's simply too vague.
It was certified 6x platinum at the end of 2013, so it could have literally been anywhere between 420k and 489k in total sales at that point in time. It wasn't re-certified at the end of 2014, so it's safe to assume that it was
at the very most at 489k as of December 31st, 2014. Subtracting the 420k minimum we know it sold as of the end of 2013, that's an absolute maximum of 69k in the whole of 2014. Obviously, if it had sold more than 420k as of the end of 2013 AND less than 489k as of the end of 2014, it'd have sold less than 69k during 2014, which is very likely.
So at the time of your post, it's unlikely that CG had sold 90k during 2014 and 2015, as it sold an absolute maximum of 69k in 2014.
