Björk was not even that odd in the 90s. The stuff that got popular was far more creative back then. These days everyone's only worried they're gonna offend someone.
Homogenic was pretty creative, but overrated, anyway.

Her belting range is so resonant and flexible it's amazing. If she worked on her lower register more she'd be more praised as a vocalist than she already is.
Well, since BAYAR commandeered "entry-level" and there seem to be an increasing number of BAYAR-clones, I naturally assumed whoever was invoking his usage. Let me rephrase: Bjork is definitely not in the most accessible tier of alternative artists for the average listener.
Oh, come on. Bjork is only "entry-level" because she's well-known in indie circles. Her music and especially her voice and vocal techniques are definitely not "mainstream friendly." Her music draws active dislike in my experience.
I would consider her "art pop" or maybe pop music with electronic influences. She thinks she's a pop artist herself! In fact, her modesty with regards to her music is very refreshing and missing from most artists nowadays.
Why did Bjorkshit get away with running around dressed up as a geisha/Asian all the time, in and out of her videos?
Is it because she's too much of a flop for people to know/care?
Because people were too preoccupied with her swan dress?
