Chloë is a pro at starring in controversial remakes (''Carrie'', this), but she's the main reason why they work, she conveys emotions with just once glance or a gesture, incredible. I haven't seen the Swedish film or read the book, but I don't see another actress doing what Chloë does here.
I guess you could say that the American version is just another view of what the book is about or wants to express: the Swedish version looks like it focuses on the darkness, meanwhile, the American version wants to talk about innocence and love, after all the main characters are kids
; both versions are right on their own, they're two alternative visions.
