anybody alive at the end of the 1990s and at the beginning of the 2000s will remember seeing her face everywhere and how the world was a literal Britney mania. Every single, music video, album she released and every performance she did was a huge event. Every girl wanted to be her and every guy wanted to be on top of her. People just can't stand how huge she was and how her peak completely destroys the whole careers of some other girls and the fact she has remembered songs and some amazing VEVO views for songs that are over 10 years old despite the fact her peak was before YouTube was even a thing really is the cherry on top. People are mad theirs faves just can't compete and that their stats are pretty poor in comparison to the global, iconic, remembered, legendary princess of pop!
I think it comes fro them belonging in a generation where no one was really that big, so they just can't imagine a star that huge and so diminish her.
