Has he said anything that violates ATRL rules and policies or represents ATRL itself in a negative light?
If the answer is no, then absolutely nobody should be concerned with his status as a moderator and I find it rude to suggest both "obsession" and inability to handle a staff position.
Lipton has been a moderator longer than I've even been on the site and he's done a very good job so far - if Athens and the rest of the mods disagreed, he wouldn't be a part of the team. While moderators are held to a higher standard, a measure of respect should come with the title, given that he has dedicated his own time and energy to preserving the function of this site.
A little commentary on an artist he happens to dislike, for whatever reason, changes none of this.
