Oh, I think I know. Add it to iTunes, highlight the songs and right-click, then 'Add To iCloud Music Library'. Make sure you have the newest iTunes. Then the songs will automatically show up on your iPod, assuming it has iOS 8.4.
Essentially, if you have Apple Music on an iDevice, you can't sync songs manually to it, it has to be done with iCloud Music Library now.
