I'm copying and pasting bang Up's post from the Gaga base thread because I think some of you need to read it:
"There is nothing wrong the 'Applause' lyric video. Just 'cause some of ya'll are self-hating homosexuals doesn't mean that the very fun, light-hearted, and silly 'Applause' lyric video was bad.
She never disappeared when she "had to promote". During ARTPOP she promoted her album everywhere she could, but she can only do so much and can only book spots that will let her perform.
The only reason she performed 'Dope' was specifically to say "**** you" to Troy. The YouTube Awards performance happened during the time they began to fall apart. I rather my fave hold her ground and stand up to someone who did her dirty then promote a song so it can chart higher. As for 'Gypsy', that was actually in the running to be a single and that's why she performed it so many times.
None of her artworks were made by fans?
All of her friends are professionals. This idea that she's in her backyard filming with a GoPro camera by herself is deluded at best. She is always surrounded by professional film makers and producers when she's putting her videos together. Just because they're not the ones you want doesn't mean they're not professionals.
ARTPOP's last-minute changes had absolutely nothing to do with her. Troy and her label were the ones who changed things last minute. She did her best to adapt.
When you spend a month putting together performances for one song and then are told that song isn't the single anymore, your performances are going to be last-minute and messy. That's just how that works.
This whole "Gaga is always wrong" ******** got old two years ago. "Cheek To Cheek" proved that Gaga does what needs to be done when she has a team behind her that believes in her. And contrary to popular belief, Gaga is a very, very compromising person and often listens to her record label. The higher ups are the ones who need to change and adapt, not Gaga. They're the ones who continue to want to do things the same way despite said things not working.
If you're expecting Lady ****ing Gaga to wake up tomorrow and be like, "I'm gonna change everything about who I am so I can chart higher," it's not Gaga who needs a reality check. "
OT: I'm glad ARTPOP happened because the music was flawless and the era made me love Gaga again
