Yesterday nothing updated, so the 1.5m update was a 2-day one.

Spotify needs to either bring back the Albums Chart, or Billboard needs to launch some kind of Top Streaming Albums chart w/ On-Demand Streams. We've had no idea to the most streamed album weekly, ever since Spotify removed their albums chart in 2014.

Yeah, the albums chart was really useful. I vividly remember Nothing Was The Same's complete domination of it in early-mid 2014.

U.S. OVERALL MUSIC CONSUMPTION—LED BY GROWTH IN ON-DEMAND STREAMING—HELP POWER A 14% LIFT FROM LAST YEAR

Nearly every single country is up in revenue this year thanks to Streaming's hand. This is probably actually gonna be the first time since 2000 the global music industry will go up.

Album equivalent is also up 3% in UK this year because Streaming.
Quote:
Album Sales:
2014: 38.1M | 2015: 36.1M (-5.25%)
Track Equivalent Albums:
2014: 8.18M | 2015: 7.18M (-12.3%)
Streaming Equivalent Albums:
2014: 6.4M | 2015: 11.49M (+79.5%)
Total:
2014: 52.68M | 2015: 54.77M (+4%)
|
To think most people were on Streaming is bad side 2 years ago.
|

Another country.
Spain was the country hit the absolute hardest by piracy and digital world and declined every single year since 2001, but ever since 2014 with Streaming has came back.

If they go up 11% overall at the end of the year like this mid-year, then they will €166M, their highest revenue as a country since 2009-2010, half a decade ago.

If You're Reading This being the #2 Rap album in streams (possibly #2 period). 5 months after release, mixtape, no hits, no promotion. Drake is such a Streaming beast.
Oh, and his pure sales this week: 7,175
His Streaming Equivalent Sales this week: 7,878
SEA, it's power in the long haul for longevity.

FUTURE'S 11 MILLION APPLE STREAMS
One of our moles has some intriguing info about Apple Music’s impressive stream numbers.
Our Deep Throat says Epic’s chart-topping Future, who got 14 million+ streams last week on Spotify, scored 11m during that same period on Apple Music—a stunning figure just a month after the launch of the service. That Apple’s number is so close to that of its much longer-lived competitor is the sort of fact rights holders and some within Apple would like to make public

HDD says Apple's Eddy Cue is the person responsible for not releasing their streaming numbers to the public. What harm could it possibly cause them to let the numbers be punished and included in the Hot 100? That would help, not hurt the company, with the streaming numbers it's bringing in. Maybe he's waiting until the end of the 3 months, but that's a long time and punishes the artists who have signed to stream on the Apple Music website chart wise, both on the Hot 100 and the BB 200.

I tweeted Apple Music this morning asking why they're refusing to publicly release their streaming data, but with all their followers I doubt I'll get a response. I'll look and see if they have contact information available later today if my head allows it, and plead my case in more than 140 characters. That limit eliminates my ability to get all of my points for releasing and including the data in charts across to them.
AM is sharing its data in all of its other countries, so why not here in the US where the failure to do so negatively impacts the charts from the home nation of at least a plurality, if not a majority, of their artists originate? This is hurting Taylor Swift on the Hot 100 and BB 200, and she gave AM a lot of publicity (though indirectly) right before its release. So that's not showing any appreciation to her decision to stream exclusively through AM.
