Usher debuted a decade before Beyonce, and achieved mainstream success and #1 hits 6 years before her debut, so what y'all can do is chill with the 'oh no she completely outlasted him'. He had 15 years of constant success, certified albums, and multi-platinum hits as a solo artist (1997-2012). She hasn't even had a 15 year solo career yet.
When Beyonce can get a global smash like her bandmate Kelly R than you can compare her to X, JLo, and even BJS. Until then ya'll should compare her so called longevity with the other r&b acts.
so now the other girls are huge factor in DC's success ? lol like people really care about them much?
they barely do anything, they were just there. lol
Again, she not only outlasted ALL of her peers. She is also going to outlast several of the current major pop stars.

I believe this tbh.
Bey has created a legacy and she will forever sell on her name alone. I can see her still being a massive act even in her 40's (although it will slow down of course)
Usher is kinda the male Beyonce. He's still relevant & collecting plaques in the what? the 20th year of his career? That's why he was mentioned in the OP.
What they did after doesn't matter this is about Beyonce's (and Beyonce only) career. You're giving credit to Beyonce for outlasting artist who had to make a name for themselves on their own, while she didn't.
If she did debut in '97 (she didn't) I assume it would be easier to outlast your peers when you have two to three other girls to back you up seven of those years. Some artists had to be successful on their own two feet.
This is the dumbest logic ever since so many girl groups [groups in general] were out and plenty flopped.

You don't think that's possible when she already outlasted one? don't be a hater, hun
That's very irrelevant though. Was Beyonce, as a person, recording or not recording music using her own vocal chords back in the late 90's? Was she or was she not promoting & during performances using her own body parts? Was she or was she not the main vocalist & the leader of Destiny's Child? DC is a part of her career & it counts. It's not up for debate either.
Was that music being promoted and sold as a Beyonce recording? No it wasn't. Being the leader of a group is not the same as being a solo artist. It's just not.

He collected his first Platinum single in 1997 with "...You Make Me Wanna", and collected his most recent Platinum single in 2015 with "I Don't Mind". 18 year difference. His longevity is astounding.
So I'mma need these ATRL girls to stop acting like he's Monica or Ciara, when he's outlasted, outsold, and done better off than all their faves.

Beyonce has several global hits.
Luckily, Beyonce isn't a singles artist.
Here's food for thought though.
The last time these artists received a platinum selling album:
Britney Spears: 2008
Kelly Rowland: N/A
Jennifer Lopez: 2002
Christina Aguilera: 2006
Beyonce: 2013
All debuted in the late 90's, But why are people only interested in Beyonce's albums? What is it about her?

Usher may be able to snag a generic hit single every now and then but he is still considered a shell of his former self and isn't anywhere near Bey's league, and hasn't been in a LONG time. She's outlasted him.
Just as many solo artists back then flopped as well. so what's your point?
That the number of people in a group doesn't really give them an advantage over a solo artist bc it could still go either way. Thanks for agreeing. Her career started in 1997 and that's just that.
