its not pop or rnb Im sure, music is really good, wtf ppl, its just that her persona is not interesting enough or something, music never!!!! she has amazing discography so back off
Basically was the perfect follow up to I Bet, and also the only real option at this point.. THIF is great as a third.
Also I agree, This album was a huge disaster.. There are some absolute amazing tracks on this album, let down by a big handful of dated pop dance tracks.. Lullaby, I Bet, DLWML, Kiss & Tell, THIF, Only One, BMF and Give me Love are basically the only worthy songs. All the others sound like rejects from the past four years, or are just plain bad.
I really have no idea what Ciara was thinking. I mean where is her team? Body Party proved it was a step in the right direction and was majorly needed for Ciara, sadly the momentum was killed with I'm Out, which was the worst possible choice, they should of included Backseat Love and released it as the second single.. It could of been huge. But the era just died. And now she's made a full out euro pop dance album, dated and dry. I can't say I'm not hugely disappointed, she's above this mess. She should be establishing herself within the urban market (I.E the only market that supports her). Not singing this ****. And if she does want to go POP she needs to stop releasing R&B, and fully commit..
I don't think that it's pop music, it's just Ciara always releases her pop songs TOO late or never, they never get a chance
why she didn't release Overdose or Livin it up before Sweat/Sorry/Got Me Good mess? 'Ciara' supposed to be a pop album
why she didn't release DLWML or THIF before I Bet? these two were/are sure hits and 'Jackie' is a pop album
I mean first singles always get the most attention and the best promo, and Ciara's pop songs are GREAT, way better than her r&b stuff she releases, she just misses one opportunity after another, it just doesn't make sense
Yes Jackie is a pop album. I'm not saying her pop music isn't good, I've always thought her voice fits pop. but she hasn't done a decent job of introducing it to her fans, most of her pop songs seem to be missing something, and her sultry Rnb records are stronger/more complete and serves her main market. I want ciara around for the long run, she has to make smarter decisions. That is all I'm saying.
Anyways, is there an update for DLWML? Such a worthy record need to blow up soon.
The urban community does NOT embrace Ciara. Power 105 never played I Bet and that was an urban song. Why? Why is DLWML taking so long to get played in the bigger markets when Drake/Rihanna/Beyonce/Chris can release a song and it blows up with no promotion? Rihanna went pop with Loud/WFL and urban still embraced her on the next album so it's not about the sound.
What Ciara and her team needs to do is promote and market her music correctly. This album would've done much better if she released a POP song as the lead single. Only One has the same message as I Bet; it was the better choice.
Instead of trying to please the urban crowd she needs to leave them alone and go fully pop. Look at urban radio now anyway, all they play is hip hop/trap songs that are about drugs and sex. That's just not Ciara. Never has been, never will be.
The only thing I can agree with here is that "Only One" should've been choose over IBet. That song and Stuck on You are the only two songs I actually like that aren't singles. Only one is up to date and just amazing! Would've been the perfect opener for this album. It really could've worked. And I don't think she should go full pop. Just continue to serve well balanced albums
As far as the artist you've mention.... Rihanna's transition into pop was at the absolute perfect time and was flawless. She's always been a crossover act and her team did what they needed to effectively make her a mainstream artist. It's no surprise that she slays both pop and urban radio.
Chris works very hard to please all of his fans and gives urban radio exactly what they want from him....... Drake has always remained consistent and it helps that his music or his voice overs (Incase his doesn't write his raps) is great.

Views are slowing down now. Can't believe she isn't promoting this. I'm starting to really believe she just doesn't care how well her singles do anymore.
