Yes. Have you heard of "
Black Wallstreet?" It was the most successful and influential African American area in America at the time where blacks owned their own hospitals, businesses, lawfirms, etc. One thought that "one" of the blacks raped a white girl which led to chaos which led to hospitals, homes and businesses being burned. Over 600 successful businesses were lost. An estimated eight thousand citizens were homeless. Over one thousand 1,200 homes destroyed.
It is led to be believed that the government was behind it, and not a single soul was even reprimanded for the burning of the entire town.
This was less than a 100 years ago.
