Maybe I look like an ignorant, but I come from outside America (Indonesia to be exact) so I don't have any education about racism
I understand that we should not judge people from the skin color, and I understand that Black have a really sad past
But why when people from another race (White, Asian, or Latin) try / take interest in urban music, they get bashed ? I hate Iggy yes, but it feels like urban music is exclusive for Blacks....so why ?
Also Are Blacks can be judged as racist too ? Not toward Whites but toward another race like Asian
Why Asian discrimination is overlooked and just become joke in America ?
And last, is it OK to use words that usually associated with urban music ( like Yo Yo Yo, Wassup) because in my country these phrases are being used by celebrity/teenage when they try to be American gangsta ?
I'm sorry again, but please enlighten me

I think people had more of an issue with Iggy having a fake accent than the type of music she was doing

. I think people get more frustrated when someone from another race sings urban music and gets praised for it (Iggy, Sam, both Justins etc) whilst the Jills/Erykahs and co who have been doing it for years and not get the same type of praise or accolade. And they're right to feel that frustration. That is why BET and the Mobos were created and that is why it pisses me off when people say "If there was a WET or WOBO then we'd be called racist". I don't know if that answers your question especially since that's such a simplified and rough response I wrote haha
Can black people be racist to other minorities? I believe all minorities can be racist to other minorities, yes.
I think Asian discrimination is overlooked in America because Asians don't have the same deeply embedded history as Black people in America. But it's still a serious issue and shouldn't be treated as a joke.
It's ok to use wassup and yo - just don't use any race associated words.
