If the success of people like Adele, Ed Sheeran and others is anything to go by, performing the acoustic version on TV might no be a bad idea. Especially when you consider most of the audience will probably be 30+ year-old whites? Although the production on the normal version is quite easily digestible anyway imi.
I think it's a pretty good song, it should be a hit, and it's the sort of song that will get interest in her as an artist too. Personally I find it difficult to relate to it, since I go to parties like that and I love them every time! But I know a lot of people don't so I think there's a big potential market for the song. Plus parents will probably be happy for their kids to listen to a song like this.

This is normal though? Any artist that has a big following is going to have high initial sales then go into free-fall. Then climb back later if they get good airplay, get a music video, etc. One of the most extreme examples I can remember is Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5/Christina, which free-fell from #1 to out of the top 60 on iTunes and then ended up back at #1 a month or so later. You never know. I tell people over and over again that they have to wait a few months to know how big a song will really be.
But also, if Demi's song does actually end up a hit, I think people will just still call if a flop anyway, like with Bitch Better Have My Money and FourFiveSeconds recently.
