I'm being really careful as to how to word this because it is a sensitive topic. My main issue is when someone not belonging to the culture they are supposedly "appropriating" is given the credit/kudos for making something that has been around for a long time, trendy e.g. Kylie and her braids, Kendall wearing salwar kameez, Miley twerking. That's when it becomes an issue for me. Making it seem like they're doing something new and ignoring a whole group of people who it "belongs to" - it's wrong. But that doesn't mean they can't do/wear it. Does that make sense?

I understand that we should not judge people from the skin color, and I understand that Black have a really sad past

But why when people from another race (White, Asian, or Latin) try / take interest in urban music, they get bashed ? I hate Iggy yes, but it feels like urban music is exclusive for Blacks....so why ?

Also Are Blacks can be judged as racist too ? Not toward Whites but toward another race like Asian

Why Asian discrimination is overlooked and just become joke in America ?

And last, is it OK to use words that usually associated with urban music ( like Yo Yo Yo, Wassup) because in my country these phrases are being used by celebrity/teenage when they try to be American gangsta ?

I feel like the problem specifically with Iggy is that her 'urban' music comes off as really inauthentic due to her supposed fake accent. Unlike others,I don't think urban music should be exclusive to Black people and I don't think that people have a problem with people of other colours doing urban music as long as they're doing it well (see Eminem, JT, Macklemore etc)

I think Black people can be incredibly racist, along with everybody else and I've heard a lot of them saying things like "I can't be racist, I'm Black" and "It's ok to be racist to White people, look what they did to our ancestors" and I think that's totally wrong. Racism from anyone is awful and I think if white people made a lot of the jokes that black people make there'd be a huge backlash. I guess in that sense you could say black people are a tad hypocritical.
