Nicki is just the wrong mouthpiece.
But there is some truth in what she said when you take the childish meltdown and sieve the facts.
I don't think anyone is arguing whether or not what she said was truthful or not (hint: it is). What she says is very true despite this year being a great year for POC at the VMAs. I just don't like her deflecting from her initial attack on Taylor for making a video with skinny women to deleting her tweet and then throwing something completely different up in the air and ignoring Taylor's defenses.
Anaconda was influential and iconic for a month then everyone forgot about it. And it was iconic and influential for all the wrong reasons. People treated it as a joke.
And? The point is that it was still one of the most memorable videos of the past year, even moreso than Taylor's petty Toxic rehash.
Nicki's obviously mad/upset that blatantly exploiting her ass as a last-resort attempt at #BREAKTHEINTERNET'd career salvaging backfired and turned her into a running joke (even more so). I definitely would be, too

I didn't like the antics she did, racism seems like the solid point she fall on for defence alongside the curvy women thing.
What I don't understand is how people are saying Anaconda is tasteless and infamous while Wrecking Ball was similar but won the VOTY last year.
Or simply ignoring some of the real points made simply because of Nicki's antics.

I think the big difference is that Wrecking Ball did not rely on something trivial and was clearly not made with the intentions of "going viral " like Nicki's video. It just happened and was a phenomenon naturally. And the song was a deep/heartfelt ballad... not a song about dick, drugs and ass. Call this "racist!!!! culturally insensitive" but it's true
