The lesson I learned from all this is that we should treat black people as if they are different
I used to think that if someone attacks you, you defend yourself no matter what color or race or gender or sexual orientation they are
You see them as people who are attacking you, not WHITE or BLACK people who are attacking you. They're equals and you judge/respond according to their act, not their skin
But when it comes to black people, you actually have to respond differently and treat them differently
Interesting
I really can't stand them anymore, lol
OT: Taylord is harmless, she did nothing at all, no one with one brain cell should be accusing her of anything.
I prefer standalone songs on the debut but Overgrown is the better body of work, in my opinion.
I agRIH but I think I like Overgrown, Retrograde and Take A Fall For Me more than any songs on his debut, maybe aside from Why Don't You Call Me and Unluck.
Imagine how upset and angry Jennifer Aniston was last year when she spent half of her life savings campaigning for Cake. But even she, a more obvious nominee at the time, did not come for the Academy and cheered on her peers.

1999: Lauryn Hill
2001: Lil Kim & Mya (very sexual and curvy in this video)
2003: Missy Elliot
2007: Rihanna
2009: Beyonce (also curvy and sexual)
2012: Rihanna
Nicki's point is kinda missing me, but I'm glad she's using the convo to speak about real issues.
"Britney Spears dresses naked in sequins and gets a VMA!!!!!" NO, dip****, she made a ****ing iconic visual that went down in history.
SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T DO.

So only 4 black women have won since 99? I don't count Mya and Kim for Lady Marmalade.
And all the videos that won were incredible, white females get awarded for mediocrity (except Gaga, Madonna and Britney).

Yeah what she's saying is valid but in this context it's not exactly ideal. But she does have a point being mad that her work is not being given its due praise when Anaconda WAS influential and iconic and impactful and deserving of VOTY.
