Her first crossover smash (sole writing credit, ofc) is a little too obvious in its references to Romeo & Juliet and The Scarlet Letter but that's part of its charm. She was still in high school when she wrote it, so she probably drew inspiration from novels and plays she had to read for English & American lit. It's been exciting watching her hone and finesse her craft since then.
