Nicki and Lana really being Tumblr fads.
Fadga being so global.
Legend X slaying the game with two huge career flops.
Wow. Knee equals a pop music legend.
@conatus yes really. Have you listened to any of his albums from his peak days? They are actually very good and shows how much of a good lyricist he was.
Shakira is popular in Europe, including Eastern Europe, where only select few make it. And Latin America. Considering the amount of European countries, her chart peaks usually look good on paper.
Then you have North America, Oceania, Asia who never really used her. Even the UK does not, the most important European market.
She's far from being the most global, I'd even argue she's more local than most of them in reality.
I like 45S and BBHMM (American Oxygen was **** though) so I am still excited for the #R8 release even if she is going to pretend those songs were one note phases and won't be attached to the album.
There was nothing memorable this past year MV-wise other than Blank Space. Here for The Lord and a couple of generic rock bands to win the VMAs so these pop girls can learn to get their **** together.
She was the only good thing about Shitwreck, and her performance wasn't even anything special. The more I think about it, the more I dislike the movie and Amy Schumer.
