its obvious we all weren't born to see the hype around the who's that girl tour. she sold out 4 huge stadium dates in 20 minutes in london alone&broke records everywhere. she already got to untouchable icon status in the 80s before LAP and only got bigger. even the biggest pop girls today and 1D can't do that. have you seen the attendance number for WTG?
she became an Icon right after she performed on American Bandstand and quoted dat iconic phrase
she owned 84,85,86,87 and dats to say with heavy competition from Cyndi, Whitney, Janet
she took a year and came back a ****in legend
she dropped LAP and it was over
i still get chills remembering da first time i saw LAP, i knew i couldn't jus be a fan i had to dedicate my life to her
In 1987 with the real ease of True Blue she became a bonafide icon.
I think her comeback with the release of Ray of light & her follow up Music which where both commercially and critical successful made her earn the title of Legendary
Icon: LAP
Legend: Ray of Light, isn't it when people started to call her The Queen Of Pop?
No, she was called the Queen of Pop way back in 1985, allegedly by Billboard and Rolling Stone first. She got the title right about the same time people started calling MJ the King of Pop.
Icon: After Like A Virgin (her performance at the MTV Awards solidified it)
Legend: After Bedtime Stories. She had much success but suffered backlash with Erotica. She came back on top to prove she was one of the most successful female artists of a time (now she truly is the greatest)
The most common answer people have said over time is ROL bc it was when she got the respect she deserved/it was a big comeback. I don't see why that's a bad answer.
