I doubt it since we are in this climate of sales
ppl should acknowledge that even 500k is not easy to reach this time
I think she will pull around 750k-900k
but lets see, we know Taylor is not only smart musician, she's also smart businesswoman
If she debuts below 1 mill I'll be shocked bc all the time I've known of her she's debuted with over 1 mill. The last Taylor album to do below that was fearless and I was in 5th grade when that was releasedand I'll be in my freshman year of college next time she releases. It'll be like the end of my childhood 😢
No, she's definitely peaked. She's still going to open with like 900k or even a million still but to continue going up seems nearly impossible.
I won't be surprised if she manages to outdo herself, though. It's just that it'll get harder with each passing year as album sales continue to plummet.
The only way they will be higher next era is if she does not release the album onto Apple Music and streaming sites during the first week (she should withhold it for the first month at least). Then I can see it being even higher than "1989."
If streaming is available during the first week, then it will be lower.
I can see her doing another million but not surpass 1989
but Taylor is a smart business woman. I can see her taking inspiration from the Japanese and including photo cards with the albums, holding fan signs to encourage bulk buying, and/or having multiple album covers
