1. Golden

Quote:
Dylan - Golden
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Very Rihanna of her to be smoking!
4. Tracklist - - This album is hard to make an EP but I think you did a good job on the tracklist. My issue is that Pretty Hurts sticks out as odd compared to the rest of the tracks sonically. It's just not that impressive of a track despite the message. I think removing that track and then adding a slower song like Blue after Mine or even Rocket before Partition would have been better routes to the creation of this EP. Good job here, though.
5. Reasoning - - Your explanation was one of the best. Not because it was longer than others but just because you explained yourself well. There's no track where i felt you just slapped something down which is something I found in other entries. Definitely one of the stronger entries this round.

4. Tracklist -
I like the songs you chose. It all shows how strong the album is. Beyonce shines the best with XO, Haunted, DIL and Partition. Pretty Hurts is kinda basic tbh. I would have preferred Rocket or Superpower take its slot. Kudos for not sending 7/11 by the way. Strong setlist overall.
5. Reasoning
Your reasoning slays so much. I like how you make a strong introduction for Beyonce. It made me thrilled to learn more about your tracklist's explanation. The track by track explanation is so cool that it made me understand why you chose them. You deserve a high score.

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
The opener and closer are perfect but, except for Partition - Flawless - Drunk in Love, I don't think the sound flows so well with this tracklisting. The song choices are good, though. The only thing that irked me is that you didn't include Ghost and Yoncé also on the list, given the fact you used them as well.
5. Reasoning
It could've had a main theme but it ended up being a short edit of the parent album. Still, it worked quite well following your explanation.

2. dwuw

Quote:
Dylan - dwuw
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - You did this yourself? Nice.
4. Tracklist - - Enchanted goes with your storyline well but the song sonically doesn't scream opening track to me. A give & take situation. Mine, Sparks Fly, & Ours are perfect for the first half of the EP and they flow very well from juvenile to more serious love. The Story Of Us provides a nice transition into the love loss without being too abrupt. I like the inclusion of Last Kiss & Dear John as heartbreak tracks. Ending with Haunted is odd but it works in the way you were aiming for a dramatic ending. Back To December would have been a nice one to add somewhere in here but given your theme, it was okay to leave it out. There's plenty of commercial value in the EP. Overall no complaints other than Enchanted opening and also your theme doesn't really differ from the actual album but it works.
5. Reasoning - I think you explained yourself very well so I wouldn't be too worried about your English Jorge. You were straight to the point with your theme and wasn't any unnecessary information in your writing. You explained each track well and I overall felt you stayed true to your storyline from start to finish.

3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Very girly and I liked it. Fits your ep's sound tbh.
4. Tracklist -
Speak Now is my favorite Taylor Swift album. You chose the songs that I would personally pick if I'm in your position.
5. Reasoning
Speak Now slays me + my whole country. It is certified 9x Platinum here! What a legend! I know that you are not confident enough writing essays but surprisingly, I was able to like and relate with your explanation. You renamed the title of the album to fit the story that you used on your reasoning. It works well! The title up to the graphics to the setlist up to the story you used for reasoning is so strong that I feel it would be so deserving of a perfect 10.

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
This works perfectly, from the flowing of the tracks to the thematically fitting positioning
5. Reasoning
The way you created this by the stages of a love story gone bad hit me. I'm a sucker for albums which tell a story.
|
3. T-Swizz

Quote:
Dylan - T-Swizz
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - 0 Points - Literally this could cost you immunity.
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - I like this cover. Way more chic and less granny.
4. Tracklist - Giving me Tove Lo teas with the three sections. Blank Space i wasn't totally sold on but it made sense with your explanation and it's a good song anyway. Style & Wildest Dreams were good fits for the intoxication stage. I love All You Had To Do Was Stay and it works well for the break-up portion. Bad Blood was your best choice to pair along with it though I do personally get major friend vibes and the mood of the song is a bit off from the rest of the EP. The flashback portion is really unique and I love how the three songs chosen fit together so perfectly. The whole EP could potentially smash so the commercial aspect is a no brainer. Overall, your tracklist is strong and only Bad Blood stands out as a little odd for me.
5. Reasoning I've already seen you write in LA and you're great at it so that will come in handy during these rounds. Your explanation was great and concise. You tackled your theme with the intro and elaborated with the final two paragraphs. No unanswered questions here.

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
Pretty strong list, only if IWYW and the remix of Bad Blood wasn't included. I prefer the original version of BB. Glad to see SIO is snubbed as its not a TS song that I can tolerate tbh.
5. Reasoning
Very brief explanation. As a judge who didn't like 2 songs from your list, I was wishing the reasoning would convince me to like those 2 songs. That's the only flaw of your entry. But still you did justice to 1989.
|
Quote:

2. Name - 0 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
Blank Space opening the EP seems a bit forced but, overall, this works well.
5. Reasoning
I wasn't really sold on the idea of making Taylor's first big change in style about the theme that always marked her, love and everything around it, with the following exclusion of the tracks that weren't about it, but I get your choices and I think this would have real potential if released.
|
4. Ares

Quote:
Dylan - Ares
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Deja vu?
4. Tracklist - - You exposed us to the three sides of Nicki and that was cool but I feel like you could have made a really nice urban EP out of those tracks. I feel TNISY threw that direction off completely. But, going off your route we have the emotional Nicki with All Things Go (which is a great opener), The Crying Game, Bed of Lies, & Grand Piano. Then fun Nicki kicks in with TNISY, Anaconda, & Feeling Myself. Finally, you end off with hard Nicki with Want Some More, Shanghai, & Truffle Butter. My problems would be that your transition between serious and fun Nicki is very sudden and that you could have had a better theme had you gone all urban but I feel you wanted a pop hit and that hurt you more than helped you.Still, good job here.
5. Reasoning - I would've given you a ___ since your explanation was lacking but you were the only one to really emphasize the commercial aspect of the R12 OP and I thought you'd deserved a little extra credit for that. You had the era planned which was cool. I wasn't expecting a story from a Nicki album since her albums are sort of messy to begin with. Just like I said, you could have had a proper theme/direction if you hadn't aimed for a pop hit.
|
Quote:
Yvess - Ares
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Slay that cover!
4. Tracklist -
I only like half of the tracklist. TNISY being included is a geat choice. I feel its the flag bearer of the album.
5. Reasoning
As much as I would like to love the EP, the reasoning fell flat to me and it didnt give me the drive to give the other tracks another chance. Your entry could have been better tbh.
|
Quote:
Mario - Ares
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
I gave you an extra point because I really liked as you also planned the era commercially but I didn't like how you divided so firmly the slower songs from the upbeat ones and, on top of this, how you chose the former ones to open the album.
5. Reasoning
I can't focus on the theme you went on for this. Is there one? Or it's just a collection of three type of songs Nicki manages to make work?
|
5. Bloomers

Quote:
Dylan - Bloomers
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Mess but Gaga would do this.
4. Tracklist - - You got rid of most the mess on the album. Jewels N Drugs is a guilty pleasure but you had Manicure and Mary Jane Holland that could have been substituted in its place and still made sense with your story (which was unique btw). I know Applause was meant to be a closer because of the title on the album but I actually prefer it up front since it doesn't scream album ender like Gypsy does. Other than JND, I would have preferred the original to DWUW as R Kelly's verse is kinda the best part about ARTPOP but that's just a personal preference. Nice job here. Not perfect but good.
5. Reasoning - Your explanation was sort of like Gaga herself. It 's really confusing but right before you're about to blow it off, it starts making sense. I like the double meaning the EP could have if they didn't get to see your explanation. Truly your ARTPOP era, Bloomers. Luckily not score-wise though!
|
Quote:
Yvess - Bloomers
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Love it!
4. Tracklist -
ARTPOP won't flop if the whole album sounded like the songs you have chosen.
5. Reasoning
Great explanation as you were able to make me believe that the album is cohesive and most of all, fun to listen to. Great job!
|
Quote:
Mario - Bloomers
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
In my opinion, Applause is a perfect album closer so I struggle to see it as an opener but the rest is really good. I applaud you for picking Jewels 'n Drugs, quite a brave choice, and, I don't know if that was your aim, but the way Do What U Want (feat. Legend X) works as a bridge is amazing. Maintaining the R&B-Hip/Hop flavour of the previous track but also leading nicely to Gypsy, which would've been harder with the original duet with R. Kelly.
5. Reasoning
Bravo! You made ARTPOP work and no one even knows what ARTPOP is. Lemme send your contacts to Interscope.
|
6. Sebas

Quote:
Dylan - Sebas
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Thank god it's the deluxe. There's some super cute fanmade ones though.
4. Tracklist - Points - This is solid aside from Black Jesus + Amen Fashion since I think even Gaga stans hate that song. I would have replaced that with Hair or even Marry The Night really. Glad Blody Mary made the cute. Yeah, aside from BJ+AF, I thought you made the correct choices here.
5. Reasoning - - Both you and I know you can do better than this Sebas. You were pressed for time and it certainly showed but hey, you're still in the game and have time to send in entries similar to S3 in future rounds. Pretty good for being rushed though.
|
Quote:
Yvess - Sebas
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
A strong playlist if you prioritized adding MTN and Hair instead of Government Hooker and Black Jesus. I can't stand those songs.
5. Reasoning
I know that you have a deadline to meet and it kinda striked me that your reasoning is a bit rushed. It's short and sweet but not enough to sell your EP to me.
|
Quote:
Mario - Sebas
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - .5 Point
4. Tracklist -
Government Hooker may be too alienating to start off an EP, especially for casual listeners. Also, I would've liked to see Marry The Night in, since it would've fit the theme.
5. Reasoning
You made it clear this was about the self-empowering side of the album and I think the tracks you picked explain the job by themselves pretty well.

7. Guero

Quote:
Dylan - Guero
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - This cover is almost flawless but her boob hand isn't cute.
4. Tracklist - - Your theme was confidence and i think you executed that well for the most part. Fly may be the worst track on the album so its inclusion is insulting to my ears Guero. Plus Jackie (B.M.F.) is the ultimate declaration of confidence so i wish you would have utilized that track instead of the forgettable Fly. Also, DLWML could have been placed after Lullaby as the sexy side of the EP with Only One ending the EP off. Kiss & Tell was snubbed and despite it being the best song ever made, it doesn't fit your theme so I'll let it slide. There's both urban and pop commercial songs which was a failed goal of the album itself so good effort on that aspect. You got rid of Stuck On You & All Good as you should have. Only real problem is Fly & a little bit of flow but good job here other than that.
5. Reasoning - The problem with your explanation for myself was that I didn't know what you theme was until the last two sentences of the album. Other than that, you explained each track decently but others just did it better.
|
Quote:
Yvess - Guero

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
I only like track #1 #3 #7, why did u snub the Missy collaboration and I Got You?
5. Reasoning
Just average. Not that bad but not that awesomely great job from you.
|
Quote:
Mario - Guero
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - .5 Point
4. Tracklist -
This flows perfectly, also thanks to Princess' versatility in genres and tempos.
5. Reasoning
I almost thought there wasn't a fil rouge linking the songs until I came to those last few lines. You could've used a better explanation or theme.
|
8. rl231

Quote:
Dylan - rl231
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Solange wannabe.
4. Tracklist - - Ooh storytime with rl231! I really love Dance For You but i get its exclusion since it's not really that connected to your story. You chose all the best songs on 4 that also go along with your theme besides one song. I feel Best Thing i Never Had should have been replaced with Start Over since I Miss You seems to be more focused on how she misses this guy rather than moving on so the sudden change in feeling is a little startling. Start Over would allow the relationship to be mended and fit the storyline better in my opinion. That's truly my only problem though. I Was Here ending the EP was the obvious right answer.
5. Reasoning - There's good and bad to the commentary on this one. I like the storyline and how you connected each song in your own way but you never blatantly stated the plot to the story. Also you sometimes seemed to just throw out that you loved the song which is fine but I felt that was your main reasoning for a few tracks rather than your storyline. Other than those minor issues, I liked your explanation.
|
Quote:
Yvess - rl231
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
4 is a great album imo and I'm glad you picked the strong songs of the album.
5. Reasoning
I love your track by track reasoning. It. ade me reminisce how good this album is. Excellent job!
|
Quote:
Mario - rl231
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
Schoolin' Life is cute but it seems weak as an opener while I Was Here is perfect at the end of the EP. Best Thing I Never Had is also a bit out of place compared to the other strong choices.
5. Reasoning
A proper explanation for the EP's theme was missing and this hurt your entry. I guess it's about love, right?
|
9. Rider
Penalty: 1 Point Off Average Score

Quote:
Dylan - Rider
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Druggie.
4. Tracklist - - Get It Over With seems unnecessary though your theme is mostly to blame for its placement I presume. I would have preferred Loveeeee Song to make the cut but other than that, I liked the flow and the tracks chosen. Also glad you changed the title of the EP because it would make no sense without POTR, PIU, etc.
5. Reasoning - - It was good besides the drug aspect of the theme which would have been cool if this album had songs capable of making that theme a main idea but you basically clung onto numb and get it over with (one of the weaker tracks) so while I appreciated the gesture to be different, it didn't full work. Other than that, good job and glad you're not going home DQ'ed.
|
Quote:
Yvess - Rider
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
A very strong playlist. Numb interlude being included is one of the great decisions you have made for your ep. It is like the glue to all of the other songs.
5. Reasoning
I like the way you add lyrics to the explanation. In that way,you were able to convince me to lke some of the songs that I don't like initially. Great job at making the EP cohesive the best way you can do.
|
Quote:
Mario - Rider
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
Good flow but I just don't think an interlude was necessary in an already short EP
5. Reasoning
Interesting way to portray the often used theme of love but the drug relation felt a bit forced at times.
|
10. Ivory.

Quote:
Dylan - Ivory.
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - The unequal white borders are bothering me but cute otherwise.
4. Tracklist - - Femme Fatale doesn't really have any major theme to it. It really is just a fun pop album so I'm glad you didn't go the story route entirely. I really like HIAM starting and TTWE ending the EP. I like all the songs you chose actually. They are basically the 8 tracks i would have chosen. I loved that you grouped Trip To Your Heart, He About To Lose Me, and Inside Out together because it flows great that way. They basically represent the three stages of a relationship without being too sappy and still appealing to the club atmosphere of the EP. One of my favorite tracklists actually. Tons of potential hits including three that actually were.
5. Reasoning - You weren't confident in your writing and it showed. Your tracklist was one of the best here in my opinion yet you wrote like you weren't sure what you were doing and it demoted your entry from good to average as a result. Specifically, when you explained TTYH and IWG, you said you just needed two more songs which to me meant you just got lucky that it worked so well in the end. Have confidence in your entries and even if you're not sure what you're saying, act like it. You did good so you know what you're doing. Just explain it next time. This could have easily been a solid 8.5 or 9.
|
Quote:
Yvess - Ivory.
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Brit looks immaculate!
4. Tracklist -
I love that you pick strong singles from her album mixed with the great album tracks. I just don't think that Up N Down and HATLM deserves their places on your EP.
5. Reasoning
I know you hate essays on this game. It's nice to note that you didnt suck in the essay department at all. Femme Fatale is a great album, just like your work on this round.
|
Quote:
Mario - Ivory.
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
The tracklist isn't bad per se but it feels quite inconsistent.
5. Reasoning
This entry sounded totally uninspired. It lacked a spinal theme and that "yeah I have no idea what to do so lemmr throw these two tracks in" was terrible.
|
11. Element

Quote:
Dylan - Element
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - Slay photoshop king!
4. Tracklist - - You got rid of the trash on the album pretty effortlessly. I like all the choices and their color correlations. I really like Double Rainbow but it's nothing to complain about. I would have personally put It Takes Two before Unconditionally so you could have ended on a slower note but that's just a small flow issue on my part. Other than that, you chose quality commercial tracks that work well with your desired theme.
5. Reasoning - Great writing. Concise but also informative more so than people who wrote twice as much as you. You had a clear theme and each song had an explanation to go along with it. And you even wrapped up any loose ends with a conclusion so no complaints here, Elephant!
|
Quote:
Yvess - Element
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - SLAAAAAAY!
4. Tracklist -
So perfect! I couldn't ask for more. Those graphics
5. Reasoning
I like the fact that you backed up your EP tracklist with a very strong explanation. The introduction is commendable. The tracks were given a very good explanation treatment. You deserve the acclaim with an entry like this.

3. EP Cover - 1 Point
4. Tracklist -
I think everything was in the right place and the song choices were the best you could do. Slay!
5. Reasoning
This is the most creative entry of the round and, knowing you, I'm not surprised by it. It still touches the original album theme but with its own unique twist. Great job. Send me a copy!

12. Mariah4life

Quote:
Dylan - Mariah4life
1. Artist Name + EP Title - .5 Points
2. Name - .5 Points
3. EP Cover - 1 Point - She looked so good here.
4. Tracklist - - Your storyline works just fine but I can't accept you leaving both I'll Be Lovin' & Bye Bye out from the album as they are both highlights. Bye Bye doesn't really fit into the story but I'll Be Lovin' especially could have worked for the love side of the EP. Other than that, I like the rest. It flows well which seemed to be a main goal of yours. Migrate not being a single was so stupid by the way.
5. Reasoning - It was cute but it also sounded a little juvenile. You did mention every track but you didn't really explain the actual traci itself. You more just made it fit into your story that we wouldn't really know just by looking at the EP itself. It was decent but others had more detailed reasoning that made your entry fall a little flat here.

Bye bye and IBLULT got snubbed? Good thing Cruise Control and Migrate opened and ended the EP.
5. Reasoning
I enjoyed reading your EP's explanation. Very nice idea of having the EP play along the theme of love. So there, you had the cohesiveness goin on even if I don't like 3 songs on your EP.

4. Tracklist -
Good re-arrangement of the positioning that I find a bit messy on the original but I think Bye could've been a good fit here.
5. Reasoning
The intentions were cute but it looked too much as an explanation for a kindergarten project. I wish you went deeper but I guess you can only do so much when you're working with this album out of all the Mimi ones.
