I am a PROUD Islamophobe, you know why? Because I am AFRAID of it. I use 'Islamophobe' in the sense the 'phobe' would seem to imply: a phobia. Fear. Because Islam hates people like me, and wants me dead, or sent to prison, or changed into something I'm not. And it's not a stereotype: all throughout the Middle East, and in Islamic populations in Europe, acceptance for gay people is basically non-existent. All throughout the Islamic world, anti gay laws range from prison to death sentences and exist uncontested. Fear is a natural, healthy response to a threat that can save your life. Fear, for example, can make me not hold my boyfriend's hand when we're strolling in Paris in a couple of months and I might not end up bashed by a group of young Muslims like that reporter last year.
Islamophobia = Staying alive, if you are a gay man. Remember that. Don't let the internet, Tumblr, the media, deluded liberal straight people and some gays brainwash you.
