Only in terms of success. Dr. Luke is more versatile. Not to mention he knows a thing or two about urban music. The Dark Horse instrumental was something he made himself (I'm assuming for Juicy J since he had just signed him at the time) before Katy told him that she can work something out with it. Same thing with E.T. Max Martin has next to no involvement with any Katy song that strays away from the bubblegum sound.

I see your point but Max's work with Tayload and Carly have been amazing pop records.
I just hope whoever she chooses to work with it isn't TD 3.0.

The parents definitely flocked to the internet, writing scathing reviews including "I thought I was taking my children to a nice child-friendly concert with music that was fun and cute. I never expected to be subjected to satanism and sexual debauchery. What has happened to artists these days, I thought Katie Perry was better than the Lady GaGa or Milie Cyrus types, but it seems Christian America is dead and gone. 7.5/10 Would Not Recommend".

Yeah, Max is a great pop producer but Dr Luke has more versatility when producing tracks. I think Max's greatest strength is coming up with melodies, he really knows how to make a song catchy (see: Katy and Taylor's low-key tragic melodies before they started working with him)
