Rihanna has like 200 hits. She's a legend at this point she just needs to age and have a longer career. Of course people don't see Rihanna as a legend now because she's young and all that but she has a huge legacy and was the face of Pop for an entire decade. The public knows about 85 Rihanna songs. She's a legend off that.

Comparing Katy to Britney in 2004 isn't really going anywhere because she knows how to keep making hits. + Britney was completely burned out by 30 (Femme Fatale era) and Katy is still viewed as young, sexy, and a hit maker who just performed at the Super Bowl and made $165 million in a year.

It's embarrassing to compare Britney burned out at 30 to the careers of Katy, Beyoncé, Madonna, Mariah, Janet, etc who were still well popular and spawning hits after hits at 30. That's why she'll never be a legend to me. She burned out so early.

The age comparison is pointless tho. It's as if I said that since Britney had sold 50M albums by age 20 that Katy, Beyoncé, Madonna, Mariah, Janet etc were all flops compared to her because they hadn't. It's better to just compare stages of their career. Britney started flopping 14 years into hers with Britney Jean, not Femme Fatale. Femme was step-down sales-wise but that happens to every artist; it wasn't a legit bomb. For example, Mariah experienced her first considerable commercial decline 11 years into her career with Glitter - that doesn't mean she burned out quickly. Even Charmbracelet wasn't that much of a step up, either. She had a good 4 years from 2001 till early 2005 where she was ignored by radio/the public and def seen as past her prime. That's where Britney is now. Doesn't mean it's a permanent state.

& J.Lo spawned ALL her hits after 30...doesn't make her a legend.

Alicia is definitely going to be called a legend outside of the R&B community because the fact that she is one of the most respected artist in the music industry. Usher is definitely a legend outside the R&B community too because he definitely influenced boys outside the R&B community.

Being an icon isn't equal to being a legend tho. So yeah Kim will never be a legend of any sorts. Especially when the public thinks of her and her family as freaks. if you went up to someone in public and said she was a legend you'd get laughed at or slapped. So the comparison to Marilyn Monroe is a joke. & pretty sure girls 40 years from now won't be walking around with shirts of Kim Kardashian and inspiration quotes from her.

Brittany's career is still shorter in overall age (1999-2011) then all the other legends so yeah even not comparing by their age and instead the careers age she loses.

Usher has so many hits and still gets so many. I hope the public is able to see he's a legend when his career is over (which will probably be by next year).

Britney's legacy isn't grounded because it wasn't based on anything timeless.
She didn't offer anything innovative and she didn't stand for something.
