I dont get the whole legend debate. She clearly IS a legend, whether you like it or not. Shes been dominiating RnB since her beginnings, which means for almost 20 years. She has influenced RnB like none other. She's inarguably the Queen of RnB. Of course shes a legend. You do consider the Queen of Soul a legend, and you do consider the Queen of Pop a legend, so theres no point in not considering the Queen of RnB a legend (who's had also so much success in Pop for that matter and has confirmed her success over and over and over again). Bey is legend. She has the performances, the awards, the talent, the acclaim & respect, the influence, the sales, the iconic classics, the albums. It all screams legend. Fullstop.

'Legend' status became no longer "possible" but a surefire bet when she released self-titled in the manner she did which garnered the results it did.

And in between those, THAT Billboard performance happening helped eased the way as well.

With all her career achievements and those big milestones, nothing could throw her off the path to Legend. She keeps it going for 8 more years, it's hers.

No idea. I was in high school when IASF came out and she was treated like your average successful pop star by most people at that point. I wanna say sometime between the massive US success of the Single Ladies dance and around/after 4 is when people deemed her as a "legend."
