its so funny how shows like Friends and Girls set in New York which is one of the most diverse cities in the world having no regular non white characters at least the Big Bang Theory has Raj
There are plenty of people who aren't racist but just happen to not have any friends of other ethnicity.
I am not gonna say that you are 12 like the stereotype of a KAty stan, instead I am gonna tell you that we had Trl the thing Atrl is based on which was insanely popular and the music videos got millions of views each time they spun it.
The GP generally don't follow music charts/chart programmes. Far more people listen to the radio
The majority of the GP wouldn't have watched the music video (since YouTube wasn't big then), plus the hook of IKAG (the part of the song the GP would remember) itself was directly about lesbianism rather than simply alluding to it
MTV existed...
Also music videos have always been a big deal even in the 80s and 90s (think thriller, scream...)

Are you being Dense on purpose or are you just a ****ing moron. the video was big, the controversy was big, them actually kissing on a stage was the biggest thing ever. Everybody knew. Geeze

Like I said, more listen to the radio than the people who would have watched the music video. It doesn't change the fact IKAG was a big risk too

How childish of her.

I use to see music videos all the time 2004-2007. My family watched VH1 / BET / etc where they'd be shown. I remember Cassie's Me & U vidya on 106 & Park all the time. Icon.

I swear it's like Ke$ha and her lawsuit. Just give it up.

The video caused controversy in countries where it was played. It was listed on MuchMusic's 50 Most Controversial Videos at number four. It was listed on FHM Music TV on their Most Sexy Videos at number five. Virgin Media had listed the song on their most Sexiest Music Videos.[33] Standard.co.uk listed the song at two on their top Sexiest Music Videos Ever.[34] Clare Simpson from WhatCulture! listed the music video at number six on their 12 Raunchiest Music Videos ever. She said "I remember when this video came out and being totally fascinated by it – the rampant portrayal of lipstick lesbianism on the music television channels during the day time."[35] MSN eventually called it the most controversial music video.[36] Urban Garden Magazine listed the video on their Most Controversial Music Videos of All Time. The American magazine FHM ranked the video number thirty on their Sexiest Videos of All Time, saying "This video caused uproar across the world" and said the kissing scene was the highlight of the video.[37] Ugo.com also ranked the video at thirty-eight on their Sexiest Video's of All Time.[38] Fuse TV ranked the video at sixty-four on their Sexist Video of All Time.[39]
After its worldwide release, the song received media attention worldwide. ITV banned the video from its show CD:UK, as producer Tammy Hoyle responded "We could not show the video on CD:UK because it is not really suitable for children."[40] In the United Kingdom, television presenters Richard and Judy campaigned to have the video banned from television, claiming it pandered to pedophiles with the use of school uniforms and young girls kissing. However, the campaign failed. The BBC denied that they banned the video from its weekly Top of the Pops music show.[40] MuchMusic had apparent thoughts of banning the music video for airing, but this decision was ultimately scrapped.
This is what actual controversy and risk looks like
