Scrapping the DWUW video was actually the one decent decision Gaga made during the ARTFLOP era. It would have left her career in a much worse state than it was left in without it. The backlash would be unreal and she never would be able to recover from the era.
the video drama from DWUW wouldn't have been that bad. it just would've added to the ridiculousness of her going from that (getting felt up by R Kelly, nurses twerking on you while drugged) to Cheek to Cheek. I definitely think it would've had a big debut on VEVO and made it peak top 10 though (if only for one or two weeks).

To be honest I think she should have just released it and taken the backlash. It would have made DWUW a bigger hit through the exposure it would have got (since DWUW is actually a good song). Plus it would have kept her in the public eye, which is better than just quietly fading away like she did after she released ARTPOP
