Why not? She is not a Dej loaf or a remy ma. When it's convenient people (including me in the past) bring up the fact that she is a crossover artist. So in her prime getting numbers close to if not on par with pop girls is legitimate.
I don't think anyone is calling it a flop by any means.
It's fair/good but she has crossed over to pop and is a rapper so there's an expectation to perform better than what is the case right not. She has songs on top 40 and urban and many can't get all the formats she gets.
She's promoted a lot ...many would love to have her promo schedule.
she also had the past 5 years performing at various award shows (major and urban ones) and festivals where it's not about her fans but the GP to convince people to take interest in addition to her core.
She's an established artist and many of the pop girls sell out or close to it in their prime but I think around 90% is fine. Back in the day, 90%- sold out was ok. When it gets to below 90% then it does bring things into question.
Making excuses about why really isn't that great because the same people will claim she's global. I mean she hosted and performed at the EMAs and other global award shows. People know her and know what she brings to the table as far as music, image and performance skills.
I thought the first two dates release would be an indicator for the remaining ones.
While I think her N.America dates should be sold out or 95% or more based on her current appeal anything above 90% would be ok.
Oddly enough I think this might end up being her most profitable tour meaning things might not be more lucrative in the future. So she might end up doing 20-40M when it's all said and done.
More than any of us make...eh
