I said when she's off-break and not doing anything. Obviously they wouldn't leave the biggest singer in the world during the era, but if another big Pop Star was going to be paying them big bucks to be active in the meantime of her on-break / in-studio why not.
I think early 2016 is good for Gaga to release new music but I'm afraid she'll be competing with Katy because it looks like that's when she's releasing again and you know the media will make it Roar vs Applause/PRISM vs ARTPOP all over again.

Katy's on a break with no scheduled tour dates until October.
That bitch will have already started working on KP4 by the time the year is over. She's in the studio too much for her to just take vacations the rest of this year outside the 8 dates in South America.
Katy isn't releasing in January / February. She's not even writing music yet, let alone recording, and she had completely finished 'PRISM' and already had trucks of it around cities before 'Roar' was even released. So yeah, she's likely not releasing a lead until the whole album is finished, which I doubt will be in under 6 months.
Gaga released TFM, and BTW leads while still finishing up both and the only reason she didn't release ARTPOP's lead while still working was because the whole hip / cancelled tour thing that gave her all the time.
Gaga should come back with solo material this fall if fully expects a proper comeback.
If she's Cyndi Lauper-ing herself out of the industry, she can wait as long as she wants - even go up against Katy.

No, I think both of them are planning on Q1/Q2 debuts.
They won't be right on top of each other, but the media has already planted the seeds and if they are even within a month of each other it's going to be crazy coverage/comparisons.

Hm.... Taylor has topped herself every era so far. Impressive, but I think 1989 might be her peak.
This is like her "Loud" era. She'll have more hits, undoubtedly. She might even go platinum with first week sales again. But, I'm not sure if any more of her eras will be bigger than this.
