Clay is such a CATCH. Not only is he incredibly hot, but he just spent the entire day cooking up an immaculate feast. Like, he's something out of a New York Times best-seller erotic novel. He's a dream come true.
Jeff was stunned that Clay told the truth about what he told Jace. Like he just realized that Clay/the alliance knows the truth and don't have to build onto his lies while they are together. He can't even differentiate his stories from what actually happened, and it's annoying.
