Why, up until today straight black Americans (like straight white and asian, etc, etc) had more rights than a "white gay man". That's a fact. If you can't accept facts, then you might need to "go to bed". Whatever that means. Do I sit on my bed knowing I'm right, or do I count my "privileges" like sheep?
Yeah, that's funny. In that case, black Americans also "struggle" because up until today, they had more rights than "white gay men".

Girl, he/she wasn't saying that. It's no shock that Sri Lanka is not a progressive country, so she might not have 100% progressive views. Of course not everyone there is like that, but it's like saying Russia would be pro-LGBT. It's just not. That's the facts.

This is why ATRL is so annoying when something big like this happens. It was the same with the Caitlyn Jenner news. All of y'all want to jump on the bandwagon and immediately jump down the throats of anyone who says something that isn't "Yaaaaas SLAY!". If you actually take the time to not only read but attempt to understand the tweet, she's just acknowledging how a lot of black gays probably feel on this day and she's not wrong. We still have a lot of work to do. That's all she's saying.

Is not really hard to understand... unless you're white.
I understand it. I don't get how they relate, for anyone? What does a black man in a gay relationship in Cali, or a black lesbian getting ready to marry her gf in New York have to do with the horrible massacre that happened last week?
That's like saying the same thing to people after 9/11. It's weird to mix the two issues, given one is positive and the other is a very sad tragedy that people are trying to move on from.

Ofcourse she's right, and ofcourse we need to think of the struggles of others every single day
But there are people out there rn that are shaming gays over being happy about one of the biggest steps we've had so far in our movement, and that's just ********

What does her country's stance on LGBT have ANYTHING to do with her personal stance?!
